ars 07 berlin - summer academy
This year the summer academy for architecture, reurbanization and sustainability, ars 07 berlin will take place from June 11 to July 6.
The program is designed as a workshop focusing specifically on an urban situation that does not offer a homogenous urban context to begin with. The program is designed to research and investigate the urban gap and open the discourse to new solutions. The later development of Berlin particularly the process of Berlin’s reunification presents a broad range of concepts and strategies to explore and thrive off.
As a method rather than looking at the one answer we do investigate scenarios. We consider scenarios as tools to explore the future – or rather for exploring different possible futures. This approach allows us to focus on critical uncertainties. This way we will be able to look beyond the future we most likely expect. The summer academy is reaching out to think the unthinkable, anticipate the unknowable and utilise both to make better strategic decisions.
A challenging and rewarding experience welcomes advanced undergraduate students at the ars 07 berlin. This four week program offers an academic environment for learning in an international context, referencing different cultural backgrounds to new perspectives, fostering intercultural understanding.
